Universal Studios

Posted in Amusement Parks on June 14, 2008 by Ty

OMG I just got back from Universal Studios (yesterday) and had a blast! It was a school field trip as a gift to all of us for being a great 6th grade class (grade). So, I will tell you all about it!

So, there were some requirements ongoing to this trip. They weren’t all that fun, but some were ok. Here are the requirements:

1. You had to go on a tram tour

and 2. You had to go on 2 of the boring shows there.

So, we got a lot of this cruddy stuff done in the morning so we could play at the park till it was time to go. We did the tram tour first, which was so amazingly cool, and had a 2 minute wait. That worked out well. So, after the 45 minute tram tour, we set out to find the Terminator, a show that almost everyone, but me, wanted to see. So I just said I didn’t care and we chose that. What a huge mistake! The show was terrible with a terrible host! It was so corny!!! I am never going on one of those shows again, if I can help it.

Next, after Terminator, we went to eat lunch. We also found out our game plan as of what to do. The lunch-eaters were so slow because they bought the lunch. (Me and a couple friends brought there lunch.) So we missed the other show, the Waterworld, and had to do the next one. So after lunch, we all set out for Jurassic Park.

The Jurassic Park is that water ride with all of the dinosaurs. The wait was 5 minutes, so we were all excited, well some of us. Jurassic Park has a huge drop on it… which was a problem. You see, I have a phobia for some roller coasters/water rides. This was a big water ride. It has teasers and stuff. I’ll explain: It starts you off at the tour. The tour is filled with a few sections. First, its the Brontosauruses, then the Stegosauruses, and then the Velocorapters. The T-Rexes were next. This was where the drop was. You go up about 90 feet and you drop… about 6 feet. It was a teaser, but everyone knows what is next. Next: the drop. So I was freaking out! My friends, who stuck with me the whole time on the roller coasters/water rides, said that they (or at least one of them) would tell me to close my eyes when it was time. So, I did… but i couldn’t keep then closed. I was scared for my life. So then we saw it: the Tyrannosaurus Rex, you know if you were on it: the big one that comes out of the waterfall? He is 50 feet tall! So I was scared… but by the time we saw him and took it all in, something else happened: THE DROP! The drop was 84 feet at a slope of what my friends and I think to be about 85°. Omg… It forced me out of my seat, it was so big and fast and sloped. The seat bar didn’t go down far enough, so I thought I was dead… I am not kidding. After the slope, I almost started to cry… but I didn’t because I was in a state of shock. It was over.

Next, the Mummy ride. The wait was about 15 minutes, but there was a maze which made it more interesting. The ride was so good though. First it was a tour, then it was a huge speed boost down little slopes and dips. It was so much fun. I was too short to feel the scarabs (which was really air) crawl on my feet. But everyone was screaming… I thought it was because of the guy who was being eaten by the scarabs (the video it showed). But that was the cue to go backwards. This didn’t freak me out, because at Knott’s Berry Farm I went on the Boomerang. It was short but had many loops and drops and backwardsness. So, we went through the thing backwards and had a real fun time. Then it shows you turn a 180° turn and speed up… for, like, 2 seconds. The big door that is in front of you opens and you slow to see the crew members clapping at you for you had done the Mummy coaster. It was so fun!

Next we did the boring Waterworld show, which I got the most wet out of everyone in my group. Yes, I was soaked from head to knee (we were sitting down, you see). I won’t bore you with the details. I actually have to go soon…

After the show we went to the Simpson’s ride. It was a 40 minute wait. We finally got in and realized that we had to go… but we stayed anyway. It was a crappy simulation and it was so off… it was terrible. There was nothing to be afraid of.

So, we had to go. But our group said that we could go on the House of Horror Haunted House. I felt brave so I went with some friends. BIG MISTAKE! It was the scariest thing I have ever seen, with Chucky dolls following you and people with knives, who looked like they wanted to kill you. They had a chainsaw man who actually left his post to follow us. A werewolf guy followed me and scared me. I had never screamed so much in my life! I felt, once again, like a dead man walking. I thought it was over, being my life. But then we saw the exit, ran to it and out. I was ahead of everyone so I got to see them run out. OMG it was funny. We were like a buncha pre-teens who just got caught by some police officer. They were running their fastest and were looking like madmen (and woman). It turns out, we weren’t even supposed to go on it and some people were mad at us. But we got on the bus and left.

Monday or Tuesday, I will post about our trip to Imax. Thanks for reading! (This post was actually 1,032 words long!)
